  • 1–4 months £80–£100
  • 4–12 months £60–£80

🐾 Young Adults (1–5 years)

(Includes food, litter, flea/worm treatment, annual vaccines averaged monthly, and general health checks.)

👵 Senior Cats (7+ years)

✂️ Our Neutering Commitment

Regular donations allow us to plan ahead, say “yes” to emergencies, and commit to neutering programmes. As part of our mission to reduce unwanted litters in the UK, Penny Paws is committed to neutering every cat over 2kg or 5 months of age. Average UK costs:

  • Female spay: £100–£180
  • Male neuter: £70–£120
  • Microchipping: £20–£40

So on average, neutering and microchipping one cat costs £120–£200+ This is one of our largest ongoing expenses — but it is absolutely essential to breaking the cycle.

🐾 The Reality of Mum & Kittens

New pregnant cats and mums with litters turn up almost daily.
The average cost of supporting:
🐱 A Mum + 4–5 Kittens (Birth to Adoption)
Monthly cost during nursing period: £250–£350
(includes kitten milk, high-calorie food for mum, litter, parasite treatment, early vet checks)

Kittens remain until:

  • Fully weaned
  • Vaccinated
  • Microchipped
  • Health checked

Mum then stays until:

  • Fully weaned
  • Vaccinated
  • Microchipped
  • Health checked

The additional cost of caring for mum post-weaning is approximately £70–£100 per month, plus her spay surgery.
One unexpected litter can easily cost £800–£1,200 from intake to rehoming
